Paula Antram

Principal

My name is Paula Antram, and I am honored to be the principal at Jose Ortega. A little background about me is: I was born and raised in San Francisco’s Sunset District. When I am not at school, you can find me spending time with my family, knitting/crocheting, or watching a good baseball game.

My professional background is rooted in education. I have always been passionate about how children learn and believe all children can learn. I have over ten years of experience in education ranging from preschool to elementary. I always keep students at the center of my decision making and planning.

I look forward to working with you all to help your child grow, succeed, and become the best versions of themselves.

Zubin hu

Assistant Principal

Hello! My name is Zubin Hu, and I’m honored to be joining the Jose Ortega community as the new Assistant Principal. As a multilingual immigrant and proud graduate of SFUSD, I bring a deep commitment to equity, authentic relationships, and student-centered leadership. Before joining Jose Ortega, I served as a math teacher and instructional coach in Oakland Unified. My work has focused on supporting English Learners, building inclusive classrooms, and coaching teachers to elevate student voice and thinking. I recently completed my leadership training at UC Berkeley’ Principal Leadership Institute, where I explored how school systems can be transformed through collaborative, equity-driven practices. At my core, I believe every child deserves to be seen, heard, and challenged. I strive to create learning environments where students feel safe to take risks, where staff feel supported and respected, and where families are true partners in shaping our school community. I look forward to listening, learning, and leading alongside you.
