We’re excited to announce the 2nd annual Jose Ortega TALENT SHOW! Whether your student loves to sing, dance, perform magic tricks, play an instrument, tell jokes, read poetry, demonstrate martial arts/gymnastics, or show off a special skill—we want to see it all!.

Imagine a School-Wide free market/garage sale. What you no longer need, you can pass on to another family, and vice versa.

Holi is a major Hindu festival of colors, love, and spring. It celebrates the love between the deities Radha and Krishna.

Washable and hypoallergenic colors will be thrown below the neck or upwards in the sky outside in the yard. We recommend not wearing your best clothes to school or bring an old t-shirt to put on regular clothes.

April Greening Day is Coming! 

We are excited to invite all families to join us for Greening Day! Come help us plant, beautify, and grow our school garden together. It’s a wonderful opportunity for our children to connect with nature and take pride in our school community.

Every second Wednesday of the month, JOES parents gather at a local restaurant, and a portion of the proceeds supports the school.

Kathryn Otoshi has written a new book called "White Raven." It's centered around fostering critical thinking. The book is coming out in May, but she is doing a soft release in April.

To honor and celebrate our African American students, Ortega warmly invites our African American families to join us for a special Breakfast with Your Child. This will be a joyful morning of community, student voices, and celebration! RSVP here.

The in-person auction event features food, drinks, live bidding on high value items (with an auctioneer and all!) and silent bidding on special baskets to bring excitement and hype to the event.

A weekend activity for the community to help maintain and beautify our gardens.

We will have pies 🥧(pi day) and Easter egg hunt 🐣🥚for the kids!

JOES has a committee that represents the school and participates in the parade by wearing costumes and performing a dance along the parade route.

Eco-Adventures is an environmental education program that offers service-learning, and outdoor recreation for youth.
