Mini Olympics Fundraising Event
Come to the Mini Olympics! All guests are welcome: a fun and healthy way to get our bodies active and raise much needed funds for the many programs that make Jose Ortega great like science and art programs, teacher support, recess monitors, student enrichment activities, school greening and more.

Parent Teacher Conference Week
Parent Teacher conference week! There will be early dismissal at 12:50 every day of this week to allow teachers to schedule time with parents to discuss the progress of each student. Keep an eye out for an email from your teacher the week prior to schedule a time.
Annual Education Fundraiser Kickoff
Our Annual Year-End Education Fund Campaign has a goal of raising money to provide essential school supplies and funding of enrichment programs such as weekly science labs, performing arts, field trips, school facility upgrades, recess support, and more.

The fall camping trip will be Fri, Sept 25th - Sun, Sept 27th at Portola Redwoods State Park. Each overnight camper ages 2 and up will need their own ticket, Purchase tickets here!

Welcome Orientation / Meet & Greet (TK, PK, & K)
We highly encourage you to join us for our Welcome Event! The school will be open on Saturday, August 15, from 10:00–11:00 a.m. We’ll begin together in the cafeteria before families have an opportunity to explore the school.

We’re excited to announce the 2nd annual Jose Ortega TALENT SHOW! Whether your student loves to sing, dance, perform magic tricks, play an instrument, tell jokes, read poetry, demonstrate martial arts/gymnastics, or show off a special skill—we want to see it all!.
Spring Swap
Imagine a School-Wide free market/garage sale. What you no longer need, you can pass on to another family, and vice versa.
Holi Celebration
Holi is a major Hindu festival of colors, love, and spring. It celebrates the love between the deities Radha and Krishna.
Washable and hypoallergenic colors will be thrown below the neck or upwards in the sky outside in the yard. We recommend not wearing your best clothes to school or bring an old t-shirt to put on regular clothes.
Spring Camping Trip
Don’t miss this chance for your kiddos to play outdoors with their friends. There are bathrooms and hot showers at this campsite, so it is great for first-time campers and those that appreciate their creature comforts while camping.
