JOES Tree Planting Day

Greetings Families,

We are off to another great week.

Thank you to everyone who came out and built our fantastic carnival games and the new green house. A BIG thank you to Laine and Sophia for organizing the workday Sunday. I am truly impressed with how much was accomplished in only a day.

I would like to also thank Laine, Mike, Alana, Kristin, Karen, Lolande, Julia, Angelica, Kat, Cindy, and Mary Anne for spending a portion of your Saturday with us at the SFUSD Enrollment Fair. You all represented our school in an amazing way.

I did want to give a quick air quality update. We were hoping that with the potential containment of the North Bay fires, we would be back to normal air quality after Thursday. It has been brought to my attention that a new fire has started up in Marin City and another in the Santa Cruz mountains. I am not sure how that will play out in San Francisco, but we will continue to be in close communication with our SFUSD Crisis Response & Emergency Preparedness Team to ensure that we are protecting our students from any safety risks.

Finally, I am very excited for our annual Walk-A-Thon this Friday! Since last Friday we have raised over $5,000, bringing our total this far to over $15,000. Parents are finding it SO EASY to sign up on PledgeStar to get their students an account and send out those emails to friends and families. If you haven't done so yet, there is still time left!!!

Have a wonderful week and I look forward to seeing many of you at our next PTA meeting this Thursday, October 19 at 6pm. There will be a raffle for those who come.

Have a great week!
